True Source = True Self

"A healer is not someone you go to for healing.

A healer is someone that triggers within you,

your own ability to heal yourself."

Meet Lizzie Johnsen

I love this part of websites. The first thing I always click on is "about".

That is until it came to writing my own "about"; It feels like an existential interview with the universe.

At least we can narrow the scope by assuming you found yourself here in search of an advocate, assistant, partner or guide in your quest for health and wholeness. I truly believe that the healer is one who helps you find the source within yourself that leads to a lifetime of vibrant wellbeing.

I have been in practice for twenty years, doing just that; helping people to make the connection that body, mind, spirit, your full-spectrum of health, is intrinsically tied to your commitment to self-care.

I am as amazed today as when I started my massage, meditation and yoga practices, the power a commitment to self-care, self-awareness, and self-compassion can have on your life. I am grateful every day for these practices that balance, ground and center me and consider it a gift to help people discover this for themselves.

The announcement at the beginning of flights had it right all along, you must put on your own oxygen mask in order to help others with their own.

This little reminder is for those of you who think practices of self-care and self-compassion are selfish and luxuriant.  I guarantee you that making time to take care of yourself will only make you more caring and compassionate towards others. Guaranteed.

“Lizzie is simply the best in Summit. I have never had a massage like hers and she is so amazing at what she does.”

— Cat Scanlan

“Best Massage EVER. And this coming from a picky massage person. I love that she will go as intense or as soft as requested.”

— Kim Andersen

"Lizzie's talent, education and experience make her an outstanding massage therapist. Deeply rooted in movement herself, Lizzie observes your body as though it were in motion. She gracefully bends, stretches, and massages to promote healthy, functional movement. You'll feel through her hands how present she is with you as she takes you on a journey through your body. You'll leave feeling relaxed yet energized and completely tuned in. I highly recommend Lizzie for a uniquely wonderful massage.

"I have gone to Lizzie for regular massages for so many years that I really can't remember how long it's been - 10 years maybe?!  She's the best.  She's engaged and she addresses your issues with knowledge and expertise, the end result always being that I feel better after I leave!  With all of the ways in which you can make yourself sore and out of whack here in Summit County, Lizzie can get you back on track."

I have had the pleasure of knowing Lizzie Johnsen for 10 years. I first met her when I moved to Frisco Colorado and I suffered from a broken heart. Nothing was wrong with me physically, but everything hurt. I visited Lizzie after a friend suggested her. Lizzie did not mend my broken heart, time did eventually. But she was the turning point in making me better. She was magical in the way she soothed my aching muscles and for the first time in many days I felt better. Better enough to enjoy a hike again and ski down my favorite tree run at Copper. She has become an integral part of my over all health since. I am a pilot and at times I am sitting for over 12 hours on the way to Hong Kong. Lizzie helps my sore back from sitting for so long, my circulation to avoid blood clots, my sleeping when my time zones are all screwed up, my digestion from all the crazy food I eat traveling, and most importantly my mood. I feel like a million bucks after seeing her. I don’t know what I would do without her. She has helped make me the best version of me and I am so grateful. If you don’t see Lizzie while you are in Frisco, you will be less for it.

"I was not a fan of the idea of a massage, but with my increased running, I realized that I really needed it.  I'm so glad that I went to Lizzie as she really helped me with muscle soreness, so I could keep doing what I love.  And, now, I go to her regularly so I can stay in motion!"
